William Serek Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

William Serek Sr. On the beautiful sunny fall morning of October 2, 2011, William (Bill) Serek, Sr. chose his time and went to be with his Lord. He was born April 29, 1924 to Benjamin and Lillian Serek, served in World War II as a Navy Seabee, and married Jean Ann Randolph of Marine City, his bride of 65 years. Bill is the father of three sons and two daughters, Bill, Jr. (Joann), Richard (Patti), Jim, Diane (Larry) and Terry (Duane), special daughter, Marge Dempsey, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister Lillian (Gary) and brother in Law Jack (Lois). He is pre-deceased by his parents and five brothers and sisters. Bill worked at Eaton Manufacturing for 29 years and retired from Ford Romeo Tractor Plant in 1986 as an industrial mechanic. He served many years as church usher, board member and Junior Boys Sunday School Teacher. He was a reader with his favorite being The Wall Street Journal and his beloved Bible. His Christian Faith was always the center of his life. He loved Christmas, music, traveling, the farm, his gardens and just spending time with his family and his dog Jack. He enjoyed servicing motorized equipment and repairing things; always making them better, or faster or with more horsepower than they had before. He will truly be missed by his family and friends and who look forward to being with him again someday. Bill would want you to remember, "Laughter is the Best Medicine." His family honors the memory of William and invites you to visit and share Wednesday 2:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond. Funeral services will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
