Marjorie Hopkins Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marjorie Hopkins 93, of Mussey Township, passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 at MediLodge of Port Huron with family by her side. She was born in Detroit November 3, 1917, the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Lindsey) Barr. Her marriage to James Hopkins was June 15, 1940 at Birkett Memorial Baptist Church, Detroit. James died December 4, 2004. Marjorie had attended Birkett Memorial Baptist Church. She moved to Capac in 2005 and then attended Capac First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her family, sewing, baking and crafts. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Tony Rogalski of Capac and Beverly and Tom Edwards of Clinton Township; seven grandchildren, Ken (Dianna) Edwards, Deborah (Jeff) White, Holly (Sal) Blundo, Wendy Gillette, Diana Edwards, Rebecca (Rick) Sochaki, and Anthony (Meghan) Rogalski, 12 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; her sister Thelma Marsden, Iron Mountain as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her brothers James and Norman Barr. Marjorie’s family honors her and invites you to visit and share memories Monday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Capac First United Methodist Church, with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Burial will be in Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley.
