JL Mason 57, of Greenwood Township, and formerly of Detroit died, Saturday July 9, 2005 at home. He was born August 4, 1947 in Detroit the son of former Jewell (Joe) Mason and Anna Ruth Rodgers of Dearborn Heights. His marriage to Alliene “Jill” Davis was October 14, 1989 in Romulus. JL was owner operator of his trucking business for 25 years and had attended the Church of God, Romulus. He was a self-taught entrepreneur as well as a musician and boxer. Surviving in addition to his mother Anna Ruth and her husband Francis Rice of Dearborn Hghts. and his wife Jill of 16 years are 2 daughters and son-in-law Margaret and Joshua Logan of Hillsdale, Jessica Mason of Beaverton, MI, 2 sons and a daughter-in-law Jay lee and Tonya Mason of Dearborn Heights, Joseph Mason and fiancée Crystal Stamey of Kimball and , MI; 3 step-sons Bryan (Cathy) Nikel of Newport News, VA, Deryl (Connie) Nikel of St. Clair and Kevin Nikel of Port Huron; mother Ann and husband Francis Rice of Dearborn Heights; 15 grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Lois and Dennis Crandall of Taylor, brother David Mason of Dearborn Heights; 1 niece, 2 nephews and many friends. His family honors the memory of JL and invite you to visit and share Sunday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale, and attend funeral services 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with 10:00 a.m. visiting.
