Glenn Engel

Glenn Robert (Jingles) Engel 76, of Greenwood Township, passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, April 09, 2011 at Port Huron Hospital after a short illness. He was born February 5, 1935, to the late Fred and Emma (Pankow) Engel. He was a lifelong resident of Greenwood Township. On October 27, 1956 he married Janice Irene (Hill). Throughout his life he farmed, drove semi truck and made his final career as a machinist for 38 years at Empire Tool Company, Memphis. He took a medical retirement in March 2006. He was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Yale. He loved and was proud of his family. Throughout the years he accumulated many lifelong friends and many new acquaintances. He enjoyed visiting with them while having coffee at local restaurants. He will never be forgotten as he has touched many lives and created many memories in so many different ways. He is survived by his wife Janice of 54 years, his children, Jody (Rick) Mayhew, Kimball MI, Jeri Lynn Moody (David Fishel), Ruby, John (Richele) Engel, Avoca MI, Joseph (Melissa) Engel, Applegate; grandchildren, Michael Moody (Leann Osmialowski), Zachary Moody (fiancé Shea Seckel) Samantha Hinkle, Reese Mayhew, Nicholas and Holly Engel; great-granddaughter, Rielyn Moody; siblings, James (Wanda) Engel Zephyrhills Fl, Charles Engel, Port Huron and Carol (Robert) Rothgreb, Zephyrhills FL, along with their families and his many friends. His family honors the memory of Glenn and invites you to visit and share memories Tuesday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Emanuel Redeemer Lutheran Church, Yale, with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Pastor Joel Neumann will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Greenwood Twp. Pallbearers will be John and Joseph Engel, Michael and Zachary Moody, Samantha Hinkle and Reese Mayhew.
