Gerald Glassford Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gerald Glassford 80, of Mussey Township died Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Heatherton Place, Imlay City. He was born September 15, 1930, in Mussey Township the son of the late Ernest and Sadie (Klug) Glassford. His marriage to Florence Dragomon was July 28, 1962. He was a 1949 Capac High School graduate and graduate of DeVry Institute of Chicago. He served his country with the United States Army as a Corporal in radio communications during the Korean conflict. Gerald was an electronic technician and sold and serviced radios and televisions for over 45 years in the surrounding areas. In addition he was a dairy farmer and spent several years driving school bus for Capac Community Schools. He had attended Capac First United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife Florence of nearly 49 years are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Daniel and Lisa of Dryden and David of Capac; granddaughters, Margaret and Emily Glassford; brother, John Paul, sisters, Nancy Withun and Margaret Hurley and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Glassford in 2005 and siblings, Beatrice, Elinor, Phyllis, Janice, Grace, Clayton and Earl. His family honors the memory of Gerald and invites you to visit and share memories Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Rev. Lisa Clark, pastor of Capac United Methodist Churches, will officiate. Burial will be in Capac Cemetery, Mussey Township.
