Charles Vincent Felek

Charles Vincent Felek 67, of Mussey Township, went home to be with Jesus surrounded by his family at his home Thursday morning April 19, 2007 following his challenge with cancer. He is the son of Joseph and Charlotte Goleniak Felek, born in Detroit June 14, 1939. Charles and Arlene Nowicki were married in Detroit January 6, 1962. They moved to the Capac area in 1976 where they raised their family. Charles was employed for 39 years with Ford Motor Company and since 1974 at the Romeo Engine Plant where he was a machinist and retired in 2004. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Emmett and is a member of the John F. Farrell Council #7918 Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degree. He had served as the recording secretary for 22 yrs. He served on the “chain gang” on the sidelines of Capac football games for 17 years. Charles loved playing the piano and especially “Big Band” music such as Glenn Miller Band. Above all was his love and pride of his family and sharing with them all that he had. Surviving is his wife Arlene of 45 years and son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Lori of Holland and daughters and sons-in-law, Sheryl and Shane Miller of Capac and Denise and Pete Stryker of Almont; grandchildren, Jeanette, Mathew, Christine and Adam Felek, Kelly and Kyle Modad, Alexandry, Alyssa, Zachary, Brooke and Kaycee Miller, and Tyler and Skylar Stryker; siblings, Joseph (Adrianne) Felek of Roseville, Richard Felek of Warren and Carol (Tom) Lindsey of Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law Eddie and Leona Pelak, Larry and Maryanne Nowicki and Daniel Nowicki and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law John Nowicki. His family honors the memory of Charles and invite you to visit and share Sunday and Monday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac. Rite of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Emmett, with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Fr. Paul Czarnota, pastor, will officiate. Rosary devotion/scripture services led by the Knights of Columbus will be 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-Kenockee Cemetery.
