Ann M. Donnellon

Ann M. (Keough) Donnellon 80, passed away peacefully with her family at her side Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in St, Joseph Mercy Port Huron Hospital. She was born August 13, 1930 in Port Huron to the late Frank and Alice (Foley) Keough. Ann was the beloved wife of James G (Garry) Donnellon. Garry and Ann were married July 20, 1957 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Emmett, and enjoyed 53 wonderful years of life together. Ann was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, was an active leader of many volunteer committees, former youth catechism teacher and was an active member and past Regent of the Daughters of Isabella. She attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School in Emmett and graduated from St. Stephens High School, Port Huron, in 1948. Ann graduated with a degree in Education and Fine Arts from Marygrove College, Detroit and competed in varsity level Archery. Ann taught Art at Lakeview Public Schools for several years. She loved her dear friends in Birthday Club, Wednesday Lunch Club, enjoyed golf, bowling and art, and continued to paint throughout her life. Ann and Garry enjoyed traveling as members of the Nomad Club and she was a devoted Detroit Tiger Baseball fan. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in many activities including athletic, music, theater and dance events. Ann is survived by her dear husband Gary and loving mother to her seven children: James of Emmett, Mary Beth (Dan) Haley of Oak Harbor, OH, Patricia ( David) Cieslik of Romeo, Margaret ( Jeffrey) Ropp of West Bloomfield, Janette ( Mark) High of Grosse Pointe Park, Timothy (Amy) of Emmett and Edward of Royal Oak; 20 grandchildren, Meghan, Daniel, Kevin and Catherine Haley; Brian, Kathleen, Michael and Brendan Cieslik; Patrick, Sean, Ann and Mollie Ropp; Ellen, Marie and Elizabeth High; Emily, Timothy, Scott, Michael and Joseph Donnellon; her sister Mary Grace of Emmett, three sisters-in-law, Ginny Donnellon of Port Huron, Mary Jo Rush of Sterling Hts., and Janice and Alfred Cowhy, Jr. of Clinton, two brothers-in-law, John “Jack” Donnellon of Emmett, Tom and Claudia Donnellon of Bloomfield Hills and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her infant son Charles, three brothers-in-law, Robert Rush, Daniel Donnellon and Joseph Grace, and sister-in-law Shirley Donnellon. Her family honors the memory of Ann and invites you to visit and share memories Wednesday and Thursday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with rosary devotion service at 7:00 p.m., both evenings, at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond. Rite of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Emmett with 1:00 p.m. visiting. Fr. Tom Kuehnemund, pastor and Fr. Jim Kean, pastor of St. Damien of Molokia, Pontiac, will concelebrate. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Kenockee Cemetery, Emmett. Memorials are suggested to Masses or “Wishes of the Family”.
